Quick Overview

Developed to protect the boiler and heating system from harmful iron
oxide and sludge build up.
When used in conjunction with flushing machines the PROMAG Compact
reduces the time taken to power flush the system and also reduces the
amount of water used.
The PROMAG COMPACT can be installed permanently into the heating
system or used in conjunction with any flushing machine.
The PROMAG COMPACT provides protection by removing black iron oxide
from the heating circuit thus increasing the efficiency of the heating system.
The PROMAG COMPACT is unique â€œexternally removableâ€ magnet
construction allows the iron oxide to accumulate around the magnetic core.
The transparent housing allows for visual inspection of the iron oxide
retention in order for the magnet to be removed from the device, the iron
oxide is then free to be flushed from the filter using the outlet valve.

Features
The design incorporates an externally removable magnet, therefore
preventing direct contact with your hands.
Easy installation and simple servicing saves both money and time.
The drain off outlet allows for quick and easy removal of the accumulated
metal oxides.
The built in flow management forces water to flow over the fins, thus
maximising the iron oxide retention over an increased surface area.

Installation in the central heating system
Installation
Select a suitable site for installation in the central
heating system. Ideally the unit should be sited on
the boiler return. Do not fit between the boiler
and open vent on a conventional heating system.
Remove section of pipe and attach the unit by
using the appropriate fittings to connect to the
3/4” BSP isolating valves.
Check all connectors are tight.
Refill the system, open the isolating valves
and ensure that there are no leaks.

Installation with flushing pumps
• The filter should always be fitted via the swivel
coupling (included with the unit) to the “return” side
of the pump, thus ensuring the water is cleaned
after initially passing through the heating system.
• Prior to flushing, ensure that joints are tight & the
drain valve with the hose tail is turned off. The
removable magnet should also be pushed in its
correct top position as indicated.
• As flushing proceeds the magnet inserted through
the top. Down the central core will attract the iron
oxide particles as they pass & gradually the filter
will become choked.
• To empty the filter simply stop the flushing pump
& close the circulating valve on the down side of
the filter according to the flow.
• Remove the magnet by extracting from the top of the
filter body, which then loosens the metal particles
from the internal coil. Next either place a receptical
under the drain tap or fit a hose and drain to a
convenient location .
• Open the drain valve & start the pump ensuring that
the flow is in accordance with the closed circulating
valve on the pump . All debris will now be flushed
through the filter cleaning the coil and draining off
via the drain valve.
• When all the debris is removed then reserve the
cleaning procedure, ensuring the dump valve is
closed and the magnet reinserted into its position
• Ensure that all dirty water dumped in the procedure
is replaced with clean.
